AS350 Tail Rotor
AS350 Tail Rotor
HIGHER PERFORMANCE & LOWER MAINTENANCE COSTS
The VHA AS350 Tail Rotor replaces the current spar-and-paddle design with two composite tail rotor blades attached to a steel hub using self-lubricating spherical bearings. This design eliminates the problematic elastomeric half-bearings in the current tail rotor—along with the associated inspections, replacements and several Airworthiness Directives—while reducing control loads and increasing performance.
The Game Changer
Our AS350 Tail Rotor is estimated to save at least 25% in maintenance costs over the life of the tail rotor due to its longer life and reduced inspection/bearing replacement requirements!
Currently our AS350 Tail Rotor is certificated for all AS350 models with gross weight (MTOW) up to 4960 pounds (2250 kg).
- FAA STC/PMA approved (STC SR11808LA)
- 4,800-hour service life (800 hours more than the OEM blades)
- Provides alternate means of compliance for four Airworthiness Directives
- Independently replaceable composite tail rotor blades on steel hub
- Removable pitch horns allow use with either spherical or elastomeric pitch links
- Introduction of industry-standard Delta-3 teeter axis reduces pitch link loads
- Laminar flow airfoil for improved efficiency, increased tail rotor authority and reduced power requirements
- Swept tips for noise reduction
