206 Series Version 2 Tail Rotor Blades

206 Series Tail Rotor Blades

The NEw Industry standard

The 206 Series Version 2 Tail Rotor Blades (P/N 2062200-501) feature the following changes and improvements over the original (P/N 2062200-101/-301):

  • Full-length carbon fiber spar
  • Redesigned tip for better impact protection
  • Fifth tip balance weight for more precise balancing at the factory
  • Full-length abrasion strip for root coverage
  • Increased service life (from 5,000 to 5,500 hours)
  • Available from VHA Distributors

Why Nearly 80% of 206's fly VHA tails

The redesigned -501 tail rotor blade kept its most essential structural and material elements from the original, including the same laminar flow airfoil and shaped tip, resulting in higher performance compared to metal blades:

  • Greater tail rotor authority, especially in hot/higher conditions
  • Greater lift capacity (206L operators can use the expanded charts in the VHA-issued FMS)
  • Quieter overall compared to the metal blades (reduces overall noise by 40%)
  • Reduced pedal fatigue for pilots
  • Composite materials for corrosion resistance
  • Same dimensions as OEM blades for “plug and play” installation
  • No new equipment needed for installation, tracking or balancing

The 206 Series Version 2 (2062200-501) tail rotor blade is interchangeable with the 2062200-301 tail rotor blades. A -501 and -301 can be installed and balanced on the same tail rotor hub.
